More recent data shows enhanced hydrokinetic ‘Translating Shuttle Foil’ (TSF) kinetic energy harvesting versions, have the potential to achieve significantly higher power output at significant cost per kWh of less than 1 cent per kWh.

More recent data shows enhanced hydrokinetic ‘Translating Shuttle Foil’ (TSF) kinetic energy harvesting versions, have the potential to achieve significantly higher power output at significant cost per kWh of less than 1 cent per kWh.

Potential power outputs for large tidal flow or ocean current shuttle foil farms (multiple TSF systems, operating in a precisely controlled cycle stagger), could (theoretically) achieve instantaneous continuous output reaching into the 10s of thousands of megawatts.

All needed materials, technologies and controls exist today to achieve the potential outputs.

Important notes:

  • All described technology is open source and available for use in all jurisdictions outside Canada and the United States as patents are issued in both jurisdictions. More patents are possible for international applications once an appropriate partner government or commercial partner is found.
  • Rapid deployment versions for both civilian and military use is possible and are yet to be developed.
  • When flexible reversing ‘sail’ type foils are used, the core TSF approach becomes high viable for installation in areas hitherto thought to be unviable for kinetic energy harvesting due to too slow flow or to extreme flows (as times such as hurricanes, Typhoons).
  • TSF systems will be capable of making reliable power throughout even extreme heavily clear icing conditions, such as found regularly in the high Arctic or Antarctic, making both locations ideal locations for (endless) production of extremely low cost clean electricity or compressed air, hydrogen (and subsequent producible ammonia to facilitate low cost safe ocean vessel shipping via convention freighters).
  • TSF produced ultra low cost power will facility the highly cost competitive production of ALL (GREEN) carbon neutral HYDROCARBON FUELS – the environment benefits and cost savings to consumers will be tremendous as this will mean that all 1.4 billion internal combustion engines vehicles can remain in use indefinitely as they they would instantly become carbon neutral and without any modifications. National gas appliances will also remain viable for continued use – both of these are tremendously cost saving to consumers and any politicians would give their voters the costs savings of over $100,000 dollars will be greatly rewarded in subsequent elections.
